Some summer invitations feel a little more special than others and spending the afternoon at the Royal Charity Polo Match with Audi UK was certainly one of them. Set within the stunning grounds of Windsor Great Park, it was one of those quintessentially British summer days where elegant fashion, world class sport and beautiful countryside come together effortlessly.

The annual charity polo match is always one of the highlights of the summer social calendar and this year’s event saw Prince William take to the field in support of causes that make a genuine difference. Watching the match unfold against the backdrop of Windsor Great Park was an unforgettable experience, with guests enjoying a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere beneath clear blue skies.

As always, dressing for polo is about striking the balance between timeless elegance and effortless summer style. I wanted something that felt feminine, refined and comfortable enough to wear throughout the afternoon, while still feeling special for such an iconic occasion.

For the event I chose the Karen Millen Viscose Linen Floral Print Woven Prom Dress, a design that immediately caught my eye thanks to its oversized floral print and beautifully structured silhouette.

The dramatic floral print cascades across the full midi skirt, creating movement with every step. The square neckline gives the dress a beautifully polished finish, while the structured bodice creates a flattering shape that feels both modern and timeless. One of my favourite details has to be the self tie bow shoulder straps, which add a soft, romantic element without overwhelming the clean lines of the dress.

Crafted from a woven viscose and linen blend, the fabric feels crisp enough to hold its elegant A line shape while remaining comfortable throughout a warm summer afternoon. I also loved the hidden side pockets, which are always a welcome surprise in occasionwear.

The bold floral print felt perfectly suited to the surroundings, echoing the gardens and open parkland while still making a statement amongst the sea of classic summer dresses.

To complete the look, I paired the dress with nude strappy heels, allowing the dress to remain the focal point.

The Perfect Summer Handbag

Accessories were kept clean and understated. I carried the VERAFIED Ivory Togo Book Tote 25, a structured ivory leather handbag that embodies quiet luxury.

Its architectural silhouette and signature belt detail complement tailored occasionwear beautifully, while the compact size is ideal for carrying the day’s essentials without distracting from the outfit. The soft ivory tone worked perfectly alongside the fresh floral print, creating an elegant and timeless colour palette that felt appropriate for such a refined event.

Sometimes the simplest accessories have the greatest impact and this bag was exactly that.

Audi UK hosted an exceptional day, bringing together guests for an afternoon of hospitality overlooking the polo grounds. From beautifully styled marquees and relaxed seating areas to champagne, conversations and spectacular views of the match, every detail reflected the elegance that surrounds this much loved summer event.

There was something wonderfully relaxed about spending the afternoon watching the action from the sidelines before wandering through the grounds as the evening light began to soften. It is easy to see why polo remains one of Britain’s most iconic summer traditions.

Days like this remind me why I love British summertime. Beautiful countryside, elegant fashion, unforgettable sporting moments and the opportunity to support worthwhile charitable causes all came together to create an afternoon I won’t forget.
