A Little Escape to METT Marbella | A Luxury Costa del Sol Escape

Sunshine, sea views, beautiful dresses and a few days away with my mum on the Costa del Sol.

There is something about a few days in the sunshine that makes you appreciate the little things. Slow mornings, long lunches, getting dressed for dinner and having absolutely nowhere you need to be. My recent trip to METT Marbella was all of that and more, made even more special by having my mum there with me.

Size & Fit: For reference, I’m 5ft 4in (163 cm) and typically wear the smallest size available from most brands.
Set along the Costa del Sol between Marbella and Estepona, METT Marbella is a five star beachfront resort that brings together contemporary luxury, Mediterranean living and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Think beautiful surroundings, poolside afternoons, excellent food and the kind of sea views that make you want to sit on your terrace for just a little longer.

One of my favourite parts of our stay was our room. We had a beautiful sea view suite with a separate living space, which made it feel much more like a little home away from home. Waking up to the Mediterranean was such a treat, and having somewhere to sit and unwind between getting ready, heading out for lunch and spending time by the pool made the experience feel that little bit more special.

What I particularly love about a hotel like METT is that there is so much to enjoy without needing to leave the resort. From the swimming pool and beachfront setting to the restaurants and wellness facilities, everything lends itself to a slower pace of life. It is the sort of place where you can make as much or as little of your day as you like.

The dining was another highlight. We ate at the hotel’s restaurants throughout our stay and the food was excellent. I always think good food can make a holiday, especially when you can take your time over a meal, enjoy the setting and have a proper catch up with the person sitting opposite you. It was lovely to spend that time with my mum, without the usual distractions of everyday life.

There is something quite special about travelling with your mum as an adult. You get to share experiences, make new memories and enjoy each other’s company in a completely different way. This trip was a lovely reminder that sometimes the best luxury is simply having the time to do exactly that.

Of course, a few days in Marbella also called for some beautiful outfits. You know I am never going to turn down an opportunity to dress up, and the sunshine felt like the perfect excuse to bring out some of my favourite occasionwear from Reiss.

For me, holiday dressing is all about colour, flattering silhouettes and pieces that feel special without requiring too much styling. A beautiful dress does most of the work for you, particularly when the backdrop is the Mediterranean.

One of my favourite looks from the trip was the coral pink Cara halterneck pleated maxi dress from Reiss. The colour was made for the sunshine, and the flowing pleats gave it such lovely movement.

The halterneck, plunging neckline and waist cut outs create a flattering silhouette, while the maxi length makes it feel elegant enough for an evening out. It is one of those dresses that feels instantly occasion ready, without needing to overcomplicate things with accessories.

I love wearing colour on holiday, particularly shades that complement a summer glow. This coral pink was such a beautiful alternative to the usual neutrals and black that I tend to reach for at home.

For a softer, more romantic look, I wore the ivory Anisa printed bustier midi dress from the Reiss x New York Botanical Garden collection.

The botanical print is what makes this piece so special. Inspired by archival illustrations, it combines delicate nature inspired details with a more structured, contemporary silhouette. The bustier bodice defines the waist, while the full skirt gives the dress a lovely feminine shape.

I have always been drawn to the art of dressing. There is something incredibly empowering about expressing your identity through the creativity of fashion, and I love pieces that feel considered without losing their wearability.

This dress was a beautiful example of that balance. It feels polished and distinctive, but still easy to imagine wearing to a summer lunch, a garden party or a special occasion at home.

Another look I wore during our stay was the neutral Liliana satin halterneck empire line maxi dress from Reiss.

Champagne satin is one of those timeless choices that always feels elegant. The soft sheen catches the light beautifully, while the halterneck and empire line create a long, fluid silhouette. It is understated glamour at its best, and exactly the sort of dress I would choose for an evening when I want to feel dressed up without going over the top.

I think there is a real place for both statement colour and quieter, classic pieces in a holiday wardrobe. The coral pink dress brings the fun, the printed ivory dress adds personality, and the champagne satin is all about timeless elegance.

Together, they made the perfect little edit of occasionwear for Marbella.

No trip to Marbella would be complete without some time by the pool, and for that I wore a black swimsuit by Sama Danesh.

Sama Danesh is a luxury swimwear brand that approaches beachwear with a couture inspired sensibility. Its designs focus on considered construction, sculptural silhouettes and details that make swimwear feel much more like a fashion piece than an afterthought. What drew me to the brand is the emphasis on structure and shape. The peplum and corset inspired detailing adds something different to traditional swimwear, creating a more dressed up look while still feeling completely suited to a poolside setting.

I love the idea of treating swimwear with the same attention as the rest of your wardrobe. A beautifully cut swimsuit can be the foundation of an entire look, particularly when paired with oversized sunglasses, a flowing cover up and a few simple accessories.
Black is always a favourite of mine for swimwear because it feels timeless and chic. It is a classic for a reason, and the sculptural details make it feel that little bit more special.
Looking back, what I loved most about our time at METT Marbella was the combination of beautiful surroundings, wonderful food and the chance to slow down.

It is easy to get caught up in the constant pace of life, particularly when work involves being online, creating content and always thinking about what comes next. A few days away gives you the chance to step back from all of that, enjoy your surroundings and be present with the people you love.

Between the sea views from our suite, long meals, sunshine and getting dressed up for the evening, it was exactly the sort of escape I needed.

And, naturally, I came home with plenty of outfit inspiration. From the coral pink pleats of the Reiss Cara to the botanical print of the Anisa and the champagne satin of the Liliana, each look had its own personality. Add a little black swimwear moment from Sama Danesh, and the holiday wardrobe was complete.

If you are looking for a Mediterranean escape that combines a beachfront setting, contemporary luxury, great dining and plenty of opportunities to unwind, METT Marbella is certainly one to add to your list.

For me, though, the best part was sharing it all with my mum. Beautiful hotels and lovely outfits are always a bonus, but the memories you make along the way are what stay with you long after the suitcase has been unpacked.
