Straight off the plane and straight into party season! Our first night in Las Vegas called for a little glamour, so after checking into the incredible The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, it was time for a quick outfit change and dinner at STK Las Vegas. There’s no easing into Vegas, is there?
For night one, I wore this gorgeous purple satin dress from Karen Millen. I absolutely love the colour and the dramatic silhouette, but I wanted to show you a little styling trick to give a dress a completely different look.
The original sleeves felt a little too warm for the Vegas weather, so I tucked them in and added shoulder pads to create a stronger, more structured shape. It’s such a simple DIY alteration, but it completely transforms the outfit! I love finding little ways to reinvent pieces already in my wardrobe rather than always wearing them exactly as they were designed.
Sometimes, the smallest styling tweaks make the biggest difference. Whether it’s changing the silhouette, adding structure or experimenting with proportions, you can give the same dress a whole new lease of life with just a few adjustments.
